McAdams, Kyle-Lawn SurferGrowing up in Houston, the gulf is only a 45-minute drive and in summer, in a beach town like Galveston, we see unique images like a suburban guy (probably from Houston) walking across a town green with a surfboard. Surfing is not really much of a thing in Galveston -- but surreal images like suburban surfers are pretty normal. (If only he had a cowboy hat that would have been perfect.) Lawn Surfer Pastel 18 x 12 $195 Kyle McAdams | McClafferty, Susan-Pastel PrettyThe equestrian community has long been aware and supportive of LGBTQ+ communities and I created this collection in support of all my friends for Pride month 2022. 50 % of the artist proceeds for this collection will be donated to LGBTQ+ charities. Miller, Cynthia-Adventure to ParadiseI enjoy experimenting with uses of gold paint mixed with other acrylic colors, especially when applying numerous layers. As I applied paint mixed with gold, I felt an adventure unfolding in front of me. The many pathways represented stepping stones and numerous directions. I feel almost a frantic nature about it, like time is flying, which way to go? Adventure in Paradise Acrylic on aqua board 12 x 12 $250 Cynthia Miller | LWine, Foxglove SummerThe beauty and the danger of foxgloves have always fascinated me. These tall magenta beauties were blooming in the Cornwall meadow/garden of an old friend. My goal was to depict the colors and lushness of the summer morning. Foxglove Summer Acrylic 8 x 8 $300 Linda Wine | Miller, Cynthia-South West DreamingEvery year I travel to the Southwest in the Springtime (before Memorial Day anyway) to breathe in the dry air, feel the dry heat on my skin, and enjoy the different bird sounds. It is my soul connecting time. My bright colors in this painting reflect the energy in my soul for this area and not necessarily the muted colors I often see. Moffat, Sarita- Summertime 40 x 30 OilOne of the mental images that comes to me when thinking of summertime is a huge field of wildflowers on a clear day. Summertime Oil 30 x 40 $900 Sarita Moffat | Weed, Peggy-Bluebird 2022Bluebird Oil 14 x 11 $485 Peggy Weed | Nicely, Elise-Fish ShackJ Fish shacks can be found up and down the East Coast. They line the Chesapeake Bay, and are found on most tidal rivers. Fishermen sell their catch to the fish shack owners, who, in turn, sell to distributors that deliver to grocery stores. To me they represent the toil of many people who rely on fishing for their livelihood, and are a monument to their life’s work. Fish Shack Acrylic on canvas 12 x 16 $350 Elise Nicely |
Nicely, Elise-Hatteras EveningJust before the sun sets at the beach, the shore is bathed in a peach glow. That is what I was trying to capture with this painting. The undercoat is orange. Hatteras Evening Acrylic on canvas 18 x 24 $675 Elise Nicely | Padillo, Chito-Flitter Flutter 695Summer is the season to be carefree. Flitter Flutter Acrylic on paper 28 x 22 $695 Chito Padilla | Stanley, Melanie-Bird TalkBirds inspire me every day! I love the way they talk to one another, and I love to imagine them under pots of flowers because on our deck that is covered with flower pots, our wild birds love to congregate there for good conversations! Rainbow Fish Acrylic on paper 28 x 22 $695 Chito Padilla | Palmer, Rachel Garcia-Afternoon WalkI love people watching on the beach. This woman walking her dog caught my eye by her pose. For a moment, she seemed lost in her own world. I wanted to convey that moment when she perhaps had a moment to herself and wasn’t thinking about making dinner or the sunburn on her legs. Afternoon Walk Oil 13 x 13 $495 Rachel Garcia-Palmer | Wallace, Ann-Pool TimePool Time Pastel 11 x 14 $800 Ann Wallace |
Palmer, Rachel Garcia-Flower Farm RoadI visited a flower farm to paint whatever summer flowers they had left, but I found I was more drawn to the tree-lined dirt road leading into the farm. Flower Farm Road Oil 16 x 13 $495 Rachel Garcia-Palmer | Palmer, Rachel Garcia-The Garden Ladies' RosesI used to pass by this little garden weekly on my way back to the parking lot after work. I never saw anyone tending the flowers, but it was located in the rear of a retirement faculty. I imagined garden club members (they all looked like Angela Lansbury) deadheading the roses on a rotating basis, drawn to the tree-lined dirt road leading into the farm. The Garden Ladies’ Roses Oil 14 x 11 $345 Rachel Garcia-Palmer | Wood-Amanda-Fiber-Mimosa-PartyFlower Blast! The Mimosa tree is one of my favorite trees.
